From 29th January, Upper Clapton will start Girls Tag Rugby sessions in Epping for U13s, every Sunday morning from 10.30 to 12.00. The sessions are free, and the first 30 girls to attend will receive Upper Clapton Rugby Club hoodies.
Upper Clapton, the Epping Rugby Club, invite all girls Under 13 years old to come and play TAG Rugby. Tag rugby is a non-contact, fast-moving game that is suitable for girls to play whilst developing abilities such as speed, agility, balance and coordination. All this is achieved in a safe, family centered club, which was established over 130 years ago! All girls will receive free cooked lunch after the sessions.
Former RFU tutor and now club coach David Harries, who also works at Davenant Foundation School says, “Upper Clapton Rugby Club in Epping is one of the friendliest, child centered environments any parent could wish for. Rugby is rapidly growing in popularity amongst girls. The game promotes values such as respect for others, whilst encouraging competitiveness in a team based setting. If you, or your daughter, or daughters friends fancy giving rugby a try, then Upper Clapton Rugby Club is the place to do it.”
