About the Tournament
Last year’s event was a great success and good kick start for what we hope will become an annual festival for years to come…This year’s event will take place on Saturday 30th June at East London RFC with games running from 12 noon till approximately 7pm, followed by live entertainment into the evening.
With the month of June set to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games taking place just up the road in Stratford soon after, this year’s East London 7’s tournament and festival will celebrate British sport in the heart of East London and the uptake of Rugby Sevens as an Olympic sport in Rio 2016.
The rugby tournament will be made up of 16 teams from across London and surrounding counties, plus a few barbarian and company teams. It will be a great day packed full of fast paced and exciting rugby for players and spectators alike.
Team places are limited but there are still a few spaces available. To enter a team, please contact us at the earliest opportunity.

On top of a day full of fast flowing rugby sevens, this year’s event will feature family entertainment including a bouncy castle and face painting, a beer tent and big BBQ open all day, an appearance by a well-known rugby personality, a DJ and sound system throughout the games and live acts to carry on the party into the evening.

If you would like to take part this year please let ELRFC Marketing & Comminations Officer, Jon Barratt, know ASAP so he can provisionally book your place (email: to firstname.lastname@example.org/ mobile: 07957 350 116).
The event will help raise funds for charity, East London Community Sports Association (ELCSA). ELCSA is dedicated to the development of sport in the local community by supporting and facilitating a diverse range of local sporting teams and initiatives from Rugby and Football to Ultimate Frisbee and Karate. ELCSA does this because it recognises how important sport is towards developing people and in uniting communities.
