Rugby 7s and Touch Players Needed for 2016 (Men & Women)

FRN peeps walkingFind Rugby Now is looking for more male and female players to add to our invitational rugby 7s and mixed touch rugby teams, which will be competing in tournaments around the UK this upcoming summer in 2016.

Trials for both the men’s and women’s invitational 7s teams will be held on 5 March in east London.

All teams will compete in sponsored stash and enjoy the perks of competing in an invitational team, which includes a professional set-up consisting of sessions with experienced international coaches, physio care, media coverage and other sponsorship benefits.

Both teams are competitive on the UK rugby circuit with wins at rugby 7s tournaments like Bury St Edmund’s 7s, Kinsale 7s, National Pub 7s, East London 7s, Bournemouth 7s, Milton Keynes 7s and many others.

Coaches

We are thrilled to announce a very exciting coaching team for our rugby 7s invitational teams, which is composed of a variety of coaches with a mixture of international and premiership experience at the highest levels of the game.

The coaching team for 2016-17 is as follows:

(1) Tom Varndell (England 7s, England 15s)
(2) Jonathan Hooper (Wales 7s, Samurai)
(3) Nicole Kwee (Holland 7s)
(4) Roy Davies (Gloucester RFC, Bristol Ladies coach)
(5) Craig McIntosh (Rhino Rugby)

More information about all of the coaches can be found on the official coaching announcement here.

Please note that the touch rugby coaching team will be announced later in the season.

What is involved?

Players will have the opportunity to play in a number of tournaments in the UK (and abroad) throughout the season. Player selection is determined on a tournament-by-tournament basis.

Players selected will be asked to contribute a small subsidised registration fee of £50, which will include all UK tournament fees, coaching fees, physio costs, off-the-pitch kit costs, hydration/snacks at tournaments, etc.

All teams will be touring to Majorca in May as part of the mid-season tour. This cost is not included in the above registration fee.

How do I join?

If you would like to join a great group of players for some fun competitive 7s and/or mixed touch rugby, please email sevens@findrugbynow.com with your rugby CV and/or the following information:

(1) Club experience;
(2) Rugby position; and
(3) 7s and/or touch rugby experience (if any).

We will then provide further information about the team trials on 5 March in London. We look forward to hearing from you!

**PLEASE NOTE: Players do not necessarily need to have had a plethora of rugby 7s experience but experience playing rugby is a necessity. We are looking for players to develop and foster their rugby 7s knowledge, however, beginners need not apply.
